Audrey-Anne Ruest’s determination
Perseverance and determination led Audrey-Anne Ruest to receiving the Michel Bertrand – National Bank Financial Merit Scholarship. In fact, Audrey-Anne decided to study at La Cité after having worked three years in the restaurant industry. She chose the Business Administration program because she wanted to continue working with the public, while having the opportunity to become a businesswoman donning a tailored suit and briefcase!
After her first year in Business Administration she specialized in Finance, for which she developed an interest while taking the Personal Finance course. »I became focused on my studies. I found where I belonged, and I applied myself », said Audrey-Anne. It is this continued perseverance that has allowed her to reach the best overall average in the finance specialization courses during her third year in the program. »When Mr. Bertrand came to present the scholarship, I had a strong desire to win it and pushed myself even harder to reach that goal. Thank you to Mr. Bertrand for that incentive, and thank you for this scholarship, it will help me pursue my studies. »
Audrey-Anne will continue her studies in Accounting at the Université du Québec in the Outaouais region this September. Her goal is to obtain a Master’s degree in Taxation. »I chose to continue (studying) in accounting because I wanted to broaden my horizons and increase my knowledge. An accountant works in finance, but we seldom see the opposite. One day I would like to open my own firm and work for myself in finance and accounting », added Audrey-Anne.
