Students of the Recreation and Leisure Services program give back!

As part of the curriculum for the Event and Convention Management course, second-year students in the Recreation and Leisure Services program organized and managed fundraising activities benefiting the La Cité Foundation. In fact, four of these activities took place last March, such as a karaoke night, a kamikaze event, an evening of rock n’ bowl as well as a cooking demonstration followed by a food tasting. Under the guidance and supervision of Professor Donald Bouchard, coordinator of the Recreation and Leisure Services program, students raised more than $4 500.

This amount will contribute to the John-Zauhar Scholarship Fund which was created in honour of John Zauhar, an outstanding professor in the Recreation and Leisure Services program. He was a wonderful source of inspiration and a model of determination for his students. In his memory, the John-Zauhar Scholarship Fund will allow scholarships to be awarded to students of the Recreation and Leisure Services program.

We wish to thank and congratulate all of the students who organized these activities and allowed future Recreation and Leisure students to benefit from these scholarships.
